Del Bagno began Buddhist meditation practice at age nineteen and eight years later was ordained into the Triratna Buddhist Order and given the Buddhist name Khajit (lit. sky conqueror).

“I had a deep passion for getting ordained into a Buddhist tradition, I needed that level of validation to prove to myself that a kid from Thornwood could be recognized as truly being a Buddhist.”

He was one of the founders of the San Francisco Buddhist Center where he taught meditation and was known for his Dharma talks. He would eventually begin to exclusively follow the teachings of Pure Land Buddhism which he felt differed enough from Triratna’s path that he should resign. He remains a friend and supporter of the Triratna Community.
